A poster asked if they could use the Clipmarks facility
to paste clips straight into the message box of their post. The
answer is yes, and in fact Clipmarks seems a good way to
retain the formatting (and italics, bold, etc) and images of a
relevant part of a web page without getting into the HTML.
For example, I've "clipped" the following straight
from the BBC News site:
Of course, you need to know what you're doing, but once you get
the hang of it, it's a very useful tool. You can also archive
all your own clips on the Clipmarks site. For short clips, use
the "clip to blog" feature, and paste the code generated
straight into message box of your post. For longer clips (eg whole
articles), use the "clip to email" and copy from the
code in the email generated.
Clipmarks can be used as a Firefox or IE plug-in. See: http://clipmarks.com/
